Chandler experienced a 160% population growth in the 1990’s, and why not? Along with employment opportunities, there are plenty of entertainment, cultural and recreation opportunities available in and around Chandler to fit any lifestyle!

For recreation, there are 51 city parks in Chandler, and golfing is a way of life for many! The 18-hole course at the San Marcos Resort has been a destination since 1913 and with newer courses, like the Ocotillo Country Club, Chandler has plenty of golf.
Residents flock to Chandler’s “Ostrich Festival,” which draws nearly 300,000 visitors annually. There are dozens of other events every year in Chandler, like December’s “Chandler Tumbleweed Festival”, the annual Greek Festival and Chandler JazzFest. The 1,550 seat Chandler Center for the Arts has events year-round.
For shopping, Chandler Fashion Center, with more than 180 retailers and a Harkins Multi-plex theater, is a huge destination. Chandler already has nine other major shopping centers and there are ten more planned.
Students in Chandler are served mostly by the Chandler Unified School District. Along with dozens of neighborhood elementary schools, C.U.S.D. also has three high schools and 5 junior high schools. Two faith-based high schools, Seton Catholic and Valley Christian are also located in Chandler.

For secondary education, you don’t have to travel far if you’re in Chandler. Arizona State University is just 15 minutes away in nearby Tempe. Chandler/Gilbert Community College and Mesa Community College are also close by.
Phoenix’s Sky Harbor International Airport is just 20 minutes away. The Phoenix Suns, Arizona Cardinals, Arizona Diamondbacks and Phoenix Coyotes all play their games within easy driving distance.
